Question on CPU Limiting

Here’s the run-down… I host some remote containers that folks shell into to do C/C++ coding work on. Since the platform is a shared resource, I have limits in my Docker Compose configuration for cores and RAM. In spite of that, I notice that a container user can exceed the prescribed limit on cores. My suspicion is that something I enabled for GDB to work may be at fault, but I simply don’t know. Here’s the relevant snippet from my compose yml file. Would any of the settings below override my limit on cores in some way? # Limit number of cores container can use cpu_count: 6 # Limit amount of RAM container can use mem_limit: 12G # Set SHM large enough for big runs shm_size: 2G # These next two are needed for gdb security_opt: – seccomp:unconfined cap_add: – SYS_PTRACE # Wait for user input instead of exiting tty: true submitted by /u/kp5160 [link] [comments]
