I am in a situation where in order to access my containers they have to be served though HTTPS and NOT by HTTP rewriting to HTTPS, otherwise I receive the error “Too Many Redirects.” I know this can be solved by simply making sure I have the container’s SSL port exposed to the host, but I am stuck on some of my containers that do NOT offer to be exposed over a secure port. Some of my containers only offer a standard HTTP port. I can’t use something like NGINX to rewrite an HTTP request to HTTPS as I will receive the too many redirects error. I am looking for some help on understanding how I can change the ports that a container is running on. I am not talking about changing the containers ports that are exposed. For example, a container running VSCode from https://docs.linuxserver.io/images/docker-code-server gives one option for the port to expose which is: 8443. How would I go about modifying the Dockerfile to build this container so that it had a port I could connect to running off HTTPS? submitted by /u/mcbeav [link] [comments]
