In what scenario will a pull take more space than what is listed under “Tags” on the container’s hub.docker page?

For example, I tried running this container: https://hub.docker.com/r/pennbbl/qsiprep-fw-hpc with 15GB available on my drive. It says that the image size is 10.15 GB, yet the installation took more than 10.15GB and in the end it failed because there wasn’t enough space, and most of the downloaded stuff was deleted (I know this because my drive slowly filled up as the installation was happening, and then went back to the original free space reading when I got the failure message) Is there any reason the image would be bigger than 10.15GB?
