I would like to ask for a help to create a docker-compose file for an openvpn-client. I tried dperson/openvpn-client and I couldn’t make it work. (don’t even know how to get logs of the reason why) Despite of being a guy from Microsoft world (professionally) I decided to use Linux to create my home media center (several reasons). My set up is pretty common to see all around the internet: Ubuntu Server 20.04 Jellyfin Radarr, sonarr, lidarr, bazarr Jackett Xteve (IPTV proxy) Sabnzbd Qbittorrent All containerized using Docker (except OS, of course) I’m a beginner in Linux so I’ve chosen some graphical tools to help manage my server and all the tools involved in my personal project, like Webmin (beyond the scope of this post) and Portainer. As I said, being a beginner in Linux world, inside the Docker subject I inevitably stumble across docker-compose, and immediately started to use for all my containers. I’m specifically using Portainer Stack (compatible with docker-compose version 2) What I need: Create an openvpn client container and point all traffic of qbittorrent and xteve to this container. Constraints: All using docker-compose version 2 (because of portainer stack compatibility) Prevent traffic leak (don’t establish connection to the internet when vpn is not connected) Still have access to webui administration of the products connected to this vpn container from my local network If I’m not mistaken the only way to have a container traffic routed through this vpn container and still get access to webui administration is running a reverse proxy (like nginx). Considering being mandatory to have more than one service I really would like to run all the involved containers separately from each other on individual containers. PS. I really tried to dig into this like all other things that I’ve configured until now, but I’m really stuck on that and considering not being an expert on Linux (far from that actually) I appreciate if you can give more than insights (which I’ll love to hear), but I’m looking for practical examples or even something ready to use (yml tamplates for instance) PS². My ovpn file is working well, I tested from my Android app. submitted by /u/raphaelshiga [link] [comments]
